Vision

Community foundations take on challenging issues, pursue cross-sector solutions, engage residents, and marshal the needed resources to improve their communities and provide opportunity for all.

CFLeads helps community foundations advance the practice of community leadership to build thriving communities.

Foundation for Community Leadership

CFLeads was named implementation partner on community leadership by the Council on Foundations' Community Foundations Leadership Team in 2007.
White paper on community leadership. "Community Foundations and Community Leadership" was published in August 2007.
National Task Force on Community Leadership. In September 2007, CFLeads convened a National Task Force on Community Leadership, a group of 30 philanthropic leaders who guided the creation of two community leadership frameworks, one for individual community foundations and one for the community foundation field. Framework for Community Leadership by a Community Foundation. Groundbreaking resource by the National Task Force on Community Leadership, defines community leadership and outlines the attributes, skills and characteristics that strengthen a community foundation’s practice of community leadership.
