Cindy Sesler Ballard is the first executive director of the Coalition of Community Foundations for Youth, and has served in that capacity since May 1993. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School where she was Editor in Chief of the Law Review, and practiced law for seven years prior to assuming her position with the Coalition. In addition to her law degree, she holds a master’s degree in public policy from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. Between graduate school and law school, she worked for the Texas Office of State-Federal Relations in Washington, D.C., and served as executive director of Adolescent Resources Corporation in Kansas City.

Becky joined CCFY as a Consultant in July 1995 and as full-time staff as an Associate Director in September 1999. Becky has been a junior high school and early childhood teacher, Director of a parent/child program, an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Maryland and was Program Officer for Children and Families for five years at the Baltimore Community Foundation. Becky works from her Baltimore, Maryland office.

Martha Johnston joined CCFY as an Associate Director in September 1999. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, she has more than 16 years experience in senior management and program positions with the Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF). That experience included several years of service with community foundation champion Eugene C. Struckhoff. During her tenure with BCF, Martha also staffed a local private foundation and the start-up of the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers and served on the boards of supporting foundations. Martha has also worked in the fields of public health, journalism and consumer affairs.

Deanna Silke has been CCFY's Director of Operations since May 1993. In addition to general office operations, Deanna is responsible for project management and oversees member services, grants management and event planning. She is involved in every aspect of the Coalition's work. Deanna is working towards a B.A. in Psychology.
